Why CB type gear pump can only be used for low pressure system

Gear pump in the working process, due to the oil drainage chamber and suction chamber pressure is different, the oil will inevitably leak through the clearance. CB gear pump there are a lot of leakage.

First, in order to reduce the mechanical friction between the gear face and the end cover, there should be axial clearance between the gear face and the end cover, and the amount of clearance can not be too small, so the axial leakage of the gear pump is inevitable. We know that the amount of leakage is increased with the increase of the amount of clearance, and the gear pump in the gear face and cover between the large leakage area, so the leakage here accounts for about 70% of the total leakage.

Second, in the work of the gear pump, the two gears to rotate, tooth top circle and pump body cavity also exists between the gap, resulting in the radial leakage of oil.

Third, two gear meshing tooth surface meshing also has leakage, this leakage through the meshing point generally accounts for only 4% - 5% of the total leakage. It can be seen that CB gear pump leakage is serious, is not easy to establish high pressure.

In addition, CB type gear pump has the problem of unbalanced radial force. The higher the pressure in the oil discharge chamber, the greater the pressure on the gear and shaft. The gear shaft produces bending deformation, which affects the bearing life. In order to overcome this drawback, in addition to taking certain measures to eliminate the radial force imbalance phenomenon, the appropriate reduction of oil outlet pressure, for the shaft, bearing part is of great benefit, and can make the pump operation flexible.
