Accumulator is a kind of energy saving device in hydraulic pneumatic system. It converts the energy in the system into compression energy or potential energy at the appropriate time and stores it. When the system needs it, it releases the compression energy or potential energy into hydraulic or pneumatic energy and resupplies the system. When the system pressure increases instantaneously, it can absorb the energy of this part to ensure the normal pressure of the whole system.
Purpose of accumulator
Accumulators serve two purposes. (1) when the low speed movement load required flow is less than the hydraulic pump flow, hydraulic pump excess flow stored in the accumulator, when the load required flow is greater than the hydraulic pump flow, liquid from the accumulator to make up the hydraulic pump flow. When the shutdown but still need to maintain a certain pressure, can stop the hydraulic pump by the accumulator to compensate the leakage of the system, in order to maintain the pressure of the system.
The accumulator can also be used to absorb the pressure ripple of the hydraulic pump or absorb the hydraulic impact pressure produced in the system. The pressure in the accumulator can be generated by compressed gas, hammer or spring, and the accumulator is correspondingly divided into gas type, hammer type and spring type. Gas accumulator in the gas and liquid direct contact, known as the contact type, its structure is simple, large capacity, but the liquid is easy to mix with gas, often used in hydraulic press.
